Dead right. Over the decades I've had the misfortune to witness many of the embarrassing cup defeats to lower league opposition (including Mansfield, Oldham and Toquay), but until Allardyce showed up none of those defeats were brought about deliberately by the manager. That was one of many reasons I despised Allardyce, and just when I though Moyes might be different he deliberately throws an FA cup match.

The sooner this cunt is gone the better.

Mansfield takes some beating. My Dad and I couldn't believe it when the result was read out on the news.

Re: Worst cup exit ever?
For me it has to be either Mansfield or Blackpool both games I went the Mansfield match had been postponed three or four times they finally played it midweek on a gluepot pitch we just didn't turn up.
The Blackpool affair was probably worse come to think of it simply because the train broke down at Crewe and we didn't get in until just before half time.
Both these matches were serious affairs not like Saturday with kids and reserves playing no comparison.

Didn't Dowie go -1 (MINUS ONE) for the season that night?

Combined with that poodle Scotch cunt's pre and post match comments, yes it probably is.

I still maintain that 's 30 yard screamer had gone in rather than hit the bar in the second leg (to make it 4-0 with 15 to go or something similar we'd have gone through eventually

or conceded in the 119th minute go out on away goals 7-7

Harvey Nichols, Stockport game.

Also asked to be taken off in his first friendly for the club because he was getting kicked.

Chesterfield was proper shit as well. I was at home feeding my newborn son, kind of sums up his time as a West Ham supporter since then.

Re: Worst cup exit ever?
Stockport when our Romanian centre forward went shopping and his replacement scored a cracking own goal - then broke his foot trying to score in the other end.

That was Phil Parkes' last game for us.

I blame the plastic pitch for that shocker.

Re: Worst cup exit ever?
Oldham away in the League Cup semi is my all time worst.

Marched to and fro the station in the pouring rain, one down in the first minute, pouring down of rain all match in the uncovered away end, plastic pitch, being thumped 6-0, stuck in a siding at Stockport for over an hour on the way back.

Halcyon days!

Re: Worst cup exit ever?
Torquay was pretty awful as we had a pretty decent side at the time. I mean Torquay ffs, seaside town side in the West country usually somewhere round the bottom of the league

Getting thrashed by Mansfield was probably the worst though. I can't imagine how our travelling fans must have felt! I was in my 1st year at university in Cardiff, in the sick bay with a really bad throat infection when the result came through. The Welsh guy in the next bed never stopped taking the piss but I was just too ill to fight back!

We tried to win all those games.

So yeah, Wigan is the worst.

1967 Swindon
1969 Mansfield
1970 Middlesbrough
1971 Blackpool
1973 Hull
1974 Hereford
1990 Torquay
1997 Wrexham
1999 Swansea

All with full strength elevens

2014 Nottingham Forest ( 5-0 and live on BBC )

So is Wigan the worse? No fucking way.

Oldham 6-0 West Ham 1st leg of the semi at that shit hole of a stadium, most depressing drive back from a game ever.
